My original training was in Homeopathy and I have practised this for 18 years, seeing adults and running a children’s clinic. I have treated people with all types of illnesses and conditions including eczema, tonsillitis, migraines, anxiety/depression, post natal depression, insomnia, IBS, respiratory tract infections, anti and post natal ailments and more.
Homeopathy is a safe and effective form of natural medicine which aids the body to heal itself and in doing so is without side effects. It is suitable for people of any age including babies and children. Being very supportive during pregnancy and labour where I provide labour kits of remedies and tinctures. I have treated both my children with Homeopathy from when they were tiny babies.
Homeopathic remedies consist of tiny tablets or liquid tinctures. The philosophy behind homeopathy is that ‘like cures like’ and the best way I can explain this is by using the onion analogy. If you hold a raw onion to your eyes they will burn, water and you will start sneezing. The remedy made from the onion can be used to treat symptoms of hayfever and a cold. Therefore what can be brought on in its crude form can also heal in a diluted form. This concept took a while for me to get my head around and once I saw the amazing results homeopathic medicine can bring I no longer needed convincing.
The word Homeopathy is literally the Greek translation meaning similar suffering and was founded in the 1800’s by a physician called Samuel Hahnemann. This was not a new theory as Hippocrates in the 4th century BC mentions the same idea. The Law of Similars states that ‘the symptoms produced by a substance in a healthy person can cure the very same symptoms in a sick person.’
The remedy is found after a detailed consultation which involves taking down not only physical symptoms but the mental/emotional symptoms as well which are crucial in distinguishing between remedies. Two people may experience migraine headaches but will require completely different remedies to achieve relief from symptoms.
